It Works!!!

GREAT NEWS!!!
My Gardener's Companion soap works!! My wonderful husband got his hands all greasy yesterday just for me to test out the soap. He got grease and yuck stuff from the underside of the truck. He came in and washed his hands with my new formula and PRESTO the grease was gone!!! I am so excited about this success!! Now I am going to ask a friend who owns a garage to test it for me so I can have more than one success story to tell. The cornmeal and orange peel are abrasive, but that's what we want to help get the dirt and grease off of the hands. The Lemongrass adds the citrus needed to aid in this process. It is exciting to know that what I think the soap is good and and will do, that it actually does it! Now on to making more soap...

Saturday Boutique

Well, the last 2 two has seen me making more soap and having the children packaging it to get ready for the Boutique show I attended in Orem. At the show, I meet some wonderful people, got a hand, foot and shoulder massage, bought some cute outfits for my soon-to-be-born grandbabies, read my book and sold product! I was able to sell about the same amount of lotion as I did soap. I feel that it was a successful adventure. It was a long day, but felt good to get out in the open air.

Surgery and Delays

Well, our son was scheduled for knee surgery for 9:30 this morning. But it got delayed 'till this afternoon due to his forgetting that he couldn't eat anything. Therefore, the apple he inadvertantly ate caused him to have to wait much longer to eat or drink! So while we were waiting to leave, I had some extra time to make more soap! I made 2 batches of Lavender and a batch of our Tangy Whisper. I added orange peel to it to make it more of a scrub and to give it more of a citrus smell. I think I will like it better this way. I had wanted to make another batch, of which it would have been Cinnamon Oats-N-Honey, but ran out of time. So I will make it in the morning along with 3 other batches of whatever hits my fancy! Maybe I will continue to experiment... We shall see!

(By the way, the surgery went VERY well and our son is on the way to recovery!)

Making More Soap!

Tonight I made 4 more batches of goat milk soap. I created 2 new products! Now we will have Lemon Meringue Pie and Oak Leaves -N- Acorns! The other 2 batches were Unscented and Caribbean Fantasy. I have lots of fragrances and essential oils that I haven't tried yet. I am branching out and experimenting with them. I also placed an order for some new oils for the Fall season. It is fun deciding what new and upcoming scents we will carry!

I am also working on filling several orders that are keeping me busy. I am creating 20 gift baskets for a gal who is giving them away at an Army Volunteer Luncheon. Plus I need to make 4 more batches of Lavender to fill an order of 150 bars. Then I have a friend who is highlighting our soap in the floral section of our local grocery store and wants 50 bars or more. So, I am very busy making soap, soap, and more soap! What fun I am having!

Accomplishments for Today

Well, I did it! I finely made soap and lotion today! I made 4 batches of soap; 2 Lavender, Breathe Easy, and Gardener's Companion. Then I made 2 batches of lotion; Raspberry and Grapefruit. It was hard standing on my feet for several hours, but the satisfaction of seeing the molds for the soap filled and lotion in the drawer is great!

The Gardener's Companion is a new recipe for me. It has Lemongrass, corn meal, and orange peel in it. I am excited to test it. It smells wonderful and looks really pretty. The reason for this soap and naming it this way is for those who love to get their hands dirty in their gardens, but have troubles getting the dirt out of their skin. Hopefully this new soap will have the scrub and the smell to overcome this side effect of gardening. Since I have to turn my garden beds over within the next week of so, I will try it out and see if it works like I think it should.

Tomorrow I will cut these soaps and probably make more!

Success Stories

I thought I would write about some of the experiences people have told me about using our soap. I am continuously impressed and pleased that the results I claim for our family is and has been repeated in so many homes. I feel satisfied that our products can and will do what I say they do.

Story #1-My cousin Mauri
Mauri had beautiful skin as a teen then turned 30 and got 'adult on-set acne'. She tried all different kinds of soaps and creams to help control and get rid of the acne. Nothing worked! Then I suggested that she wash her face with my soap to help control the acne. Within my soap, I use essential oils to help heal the skin. So she tried my Eucalyptus soap. It worked! Now she will only use my soap in bathing.

Story #2-Mauri's daughter Brooklyn
Brooklyn has eczema. She tried using different lotion to help soothe her skin. Other lotions burned or irritated or didn't help her skin. She tried my lotion. It worked! It soothes and heals her skin with no irritation!

Story #3-Sandy-nurses aid at my Dr. office
Sandy had a dry patch/rash on her leg. She tried all of ointments that the Dr prescribed. Nothing worked. Then she used my soap. The rash disappeared! When she ran out of my soap, the rash reappeared. She saw me and said, "I need your soap right Now!" So I sold her more! No more rash!

Story #4-Nurses at my Dr. office
Some of the nurses have very dry skin and eczema that is irriated my the wearing of gloves. They use my soap personally to help with moisturizing their skin and healing of their hands.

Story #5-My sister's neighbor
My sister has a neighbor that has an 18 month old boy, who wakes up in the morning with bloody sheets because his eczema is so bad. The mother has tried everything to help her baby. My sister gave her some lotion and soap to use. The mother told her that this is the first lotion she has used that her baby has not cried when applied. She uses the soap and lotion daily to help soothe the eczema.

Story #6-My own daughter Emma
Emma has eczema, but she hasn't had a breakout in more than 2 years!

Family Happenings

It seems that if it rains then it starts to pour at my house right now. We took our 10 yr old son to the Dr and found out that he will need surgery next week on his left knee. He keeps 'popping' his knee so he can walk. So, I haven't been able to get to my soap and lotion making due to Dr. appointments and homeschooling and other things. We also found out that our married son, who is active duty Army National Guard attending a school in Arizona, needs to have a hernia surgery next week too. So we will be having a week of surgeries. Life keeps us busy and very chaotic at times.

I will spend today working on making product since it is fall break from (public)school (my high schoolers go for a few classes at the charter school nearby)and I have helpers to help me! We will suspend our schooling (maybe) to help get things done. I have several orders that I need to catch up on.

Have a great day!
